GRACE Teacher Named 2023 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher

Mrs. Annie Stewart, Kindergarten teacher at Father Allouez Catholic School, has been named a 2023 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation teacher. She is one of only one hundred teachers in the state of Wisconsin to receive the honor each year.

The Foundation cited Amy’s attributes as a skilled leader, an agent for positive change and a teacher embodying a superior ability to inspire a love of learning as reasons for her selection for this prestigious award. Her fellow staff members, parents and students concur that she is much deserving of this recognition.

“Mrs. Stewart is a fine example of the many talented teachers in our GRACE family,” GRACE President Kim Desotell shares, “She is loved by all and has a very special gift for teaching children. Congratulations Mrs. Stewart! We are proud of you!”

The fellowship comes with a $6,000 grant given to the school to help finance “unrealized goals.” This is not the first time that Father Allouez Catholic School has had a winning staff member.

“I received the Herb Kohl award for administrators in 2018-2019,” Principal Kay Franz recalls. Keeping in mind the rigorous process involved in the selection of award winners, the school should be proud to boast of two of the best in Wisconsin!

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School Student Highlight: Ryan

Ryan is our student highlight of the week!

He is a natural leader. When something needs to be done, Ryan will always volunteer to help out. He is also a great mentor to our younger students and helps guide them through the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School experience.

Thank you for being such a good example, Ryan!

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, as an educational ministry of the Roman Catholic Church, promotes the development of lifelong learners and Christian leaders with a strong tradition of faith, service and academic excellence. They offer proven academic excellence in an environment cultivated by a shared ownership model of students, parents and school staff. They value each student and stakeholder with a focus on the individual. In addition to strong academics, student success is enhanced through the offering of high-quality extracurricular programs. The school is guided by the Lourdes Way – leadership, opportunity, unity, respect, dedication, educational excellence and spirituality. These fundamental principles drive our students’ everyday actions – in the classroom, during extracurricular activities and at home.

Chesterton Academy Student Speaks to School Experience

Chesterton Academy long logo

Chesterton Academy of St. John Paul II Classical School welcomed their first class of ninth-grade students back in the autumn of 2021. Every year thereafter, they have added one grade level until they will celebrate their very first group of graduating seniors in spring 2025!

At the Academy, they embrace their motto Cultura Vitae, the culture of life. In this way, they heed Christ’s call to have their fullest life in Him. This intentional joy for life and learning is imbued in their classical curriculum with a strong emphasis on the development of Christian virtues and an appreciation of beauty.

New Chesterton Academy student Grace agrees, and recently shared the following about her experience at the school:

“Chesterton Academy has done so much in my life. I just started at this school and I have already seen so many changes in my own life. I have been pushed to learn more about my faith and who I am as a child of God. I am lucky enough to be able to include God in everything I do throughout every day at school and we always make sure that God is never put second.

Our daily routine, which consists of going to daily mass and praying before every class, has helped me to grow into a deeper relationship with Christ. I can also say that between the teachers who truly care about every student and the friends who never [exclude] anyone, the people at this school are truly amazing. I would honestly, with my whole heart, recommend this school to anyone who asks. The people that I am now surrounding myself with are not just looked at as just a group of friends, but they have become a family.

When I go to Chesterton Academy, I feel like I am where I’m meant to be. I genuinely love my school.”

We are so happy Grace is loving her experience at Chesterton Academy thus far. Many pleasant memories are yet to be made!
