Safe Environment

Here in the GRACE school system, the safety of our students is of the utmost importance. That is why each school has emergency response policies and security protocols in place to ensure a safe environment for learning. In addition, we mandate a background check and VIRTUS Training, a safe environment best practices program for every employee, clergy, and volunteer, to further protect our students from physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.

Each person has an inherent dignity as a beloved child of God. The Diocese of Green Bay is committed to providing a safe environment in our parishes, in our schools, in our Faith Formation programs, and in all our ministries, especially those that serve youth and individuals at risk.

Awareity Incident Reporting System

To keep safety at the forefront of our church system the Diocese of Green Bay, Office of Safe Environment has implemented a web-based incident reporting system called Awareity. This is a platform for reporting, tracking, and documenting incidents and concerns such as violence concerns, concerning behavior by staff, volunteers or any other personnel involved in the system. Awareity empowers all community members to be heard and safely report warning signs.

All reports can be submitted anonymously or through self-identification. As soon as a report is made all appropriate personnel are notified. They will review the information and take appropriate action to intervene or prevent escalation. By working together we can help prevent incidents from occurring and ensure a safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and community members. Awareity aims to help identify red flags and warning signs before an incident occurs or escalates. For more information please see the diocese website by clicking here.

If you have any concerns that require more immediate assistance or you believe calling the authorities is more appropriate please dial 911 or call the appropriate agency immediately. This is not an emergency reporting system.

Access to Awaretity can be found here
