Acting on the direction of Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced a new “Safer At Home” emergency order today that, in the interest of helping mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), will keep all private and public schools in Wisconsin closed for the remainder of this school year. GRACE will continue home-based Continuous Learning until the originally scheduled last day of school, which is June 5. The GRACE school system will present a Virtual Mass at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8. Mass will be livestreamed from Resurrection Catholic Parish, with Fr. Tom Reynebeau serving as the main celebrant. To watch the livestream, please click HERE when Mass begins.

The GRACE Food Service Department is continuing to offer a free Drive-Thru Meal Service for all GRACE students and siblings who are ages 18 and younger. Beginning this week, online order forms no longer will be requested prior to food pick up. Our GRACE teachers are doing a fantastic job producing daily lessons plans to ensure continuous learning for our students. Thank you teachers, families and staff members for working together to continue developing our students in mind, body and spirit.

Our GRACE community officially began its transition to home-based alternate learning platforms today as staff members and families maintain their strong connections to ensure students receive continuous learning. We appreciate the adjustments and efforts everyone is making during this challenging time. We wish good health upon all of our GRACE families and employees, and all of those around us, as we move forward with this new educational method.

Thank you to our entire GRACE community for helping make today’s book pick up happen so smoothly. Our teachers and staff members did a fantastic job gathering books and learning materials, and our families were prompt and efficient in packing them up. This is a challenging time for everyone, but by relying on our Catholic faith and sense of unity we can come together even stronger as a GRACE community.

To facilitate the implementation of continuous learning for GRACE students in K-8, parents/guardians and student(s) will be able to pick up books and other learning materials at our nine GRACE schools on Tuesday, March 17 between 12 noon and 5 p.m. In order to keep everyone’s health and safety as a top priority, GRACE is implementing important guidelines regarding book pick up and building access. At the direction of Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, Andrea Palm (Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services) orders the closure of all private and public schools in the state through at least Friday, April 3. The GRACE leadership team is busy preparing for our transition to alternate learning platforms in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). GRACE Curriculum Coordinator Laura Blicharz is pictured working in her office this afternoon preparing materials to help guide our teachers. Some of the tasks she is overseeing include:
* Helping teachers design a Digital Learning Environment as their classrooms move to an online format
* Establishing lesson plan guidelines including work time, due dates, grading procedures and submission formats
* Assisting teachers with online communications with their families such as setting up online office time each day
* Designing lesson plan templates for teachers that will be used to inform families of daily work objectives
* Providing a list of online resources to teachers to aid them in creating a Digital Learning Environment
